Terms of Use
Last updated October 25, 2026
The short version
- What you write is yours. We store it only to show it back to you.
- Keep your account secure, and use Terrela lawfully and kindly.
- Terrela is a journal, not medical or mental health care.
- Terrela is free today. If we ever add paid features, we'll tell you first, and you'll never be charged without agreeing.
Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Connor Morgan, who makes Terrela ("Terrela", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Terrela app or terrela.app, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Terrela.
Who can use Terrela
You must be at least 13 years old to use Terrela. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission, and they agree to these terms for you.
Your account
You're responsible for the information you give us, for keeping your password and devices secure, and for what happens in your account. Let us know straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed it.
What you write
You own everything you write in Terrela. To run the app, you give us permission to store, process and display your entries back to you on your devices, and to make backups. This permission is only for providing Terrela to you. It ends when you delete your entries or your account (apart from short-lived backups, as described in our Privacy Policy). We don't claim ownership of your writing, and we don't publish it.
If you choose to share an entry using the share button, you decide where it goes, and the terms of that app or service apply there.
Using Terrela kindly
Please don't:
- break the law, or use Terrela to harm, harass or deceive anyone;
- try to access other people's accounts or data, or get around Terrela's security;
- interfere with or overload our servers, or use automated tools to access Terrela;
- copy, change, reverse-engineer or resell the app, except where the law allows it.
Not medical advice
Terrela is a journal for noticing the good in your days. It isn't therapy, medical care or a crisis service, and nothing in it is professional advice. If you're struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or a professional. If you're in crisis, contact your local emergency number. In the US, you can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
The app and its content
Terrela, including its design, name, logo, illustrations, prompts and code, belongs to us and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under these terms and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Price
Terrela is free to use. If we introduce paid features in the future, we'll explain them clearly first, and you'll only pay for something you choose to buy, through the App Store.
Changes and availability
We're always improving Terrela, so features may change. We try to keep it running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. If we ever decide to shut Terrela down, we'll give you notice and time to export your entries.
Ending your account
You can stop using Terrela and delete your account at any time from Account → Delete my account. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and where reasonable we'll tell you why and give you a chance to export your entries first.
Disclaimers
Terrela is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those stated in these terms. That includes implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Please keep your own copy of anything important using Export my entries.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Terrela. Our total liability for any claim relating to Terrela is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.
Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Terrela or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Apple isn't responsible for any claims relating to Terrela, including product liability, legal or regulatory claims, or intellectual property claims. If Terrela fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you're not located in a country subject to a US government embargo, and you're not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll let you know in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Terrela after that, you accept the updated terms.
